OneRepublic’s lead singer, Ryan Tedder, wrote a handwritten letter to fans this week to announce that the band is working on their “greatest album.”
The letter was posted on the band’s website and Instagram.
OneRepublic’s last album, Native, was released in 2013 and they have been working on the new one since the summer of 2014.

In the letter, Tedder thanked the band’s many fans for their support.
The frontman also mentioned,
“This January we celebrated 9 years as a band. NINE! In band years that’s practically 30.”
On the band’s website, there’s now a timer counting down to May 13, 2016 (and some links where folks can get exclusive updates from Interscope records and Universal Music group).
The timer could indicate a possible release date for the new album.
“Making an album is never easy. Attempting to make the greatest album of your life is even less easy,” the rocker continued in his letter. “That’s what we have been doing, and while beauty is in the eye of the beholder and musical excellence is subjective, we think we have accomplished what we set out to do.”
Tedder went on to say that the band started writing the new music when they were on tour in August 2014. They continued to write as they travelled through places like Dublin, Paris, London, Estonia, Turkey, Italy, Russia and dozens of other locations.
