The brotherhood said the slogan is a reference to the bonuses that some Montreal police managers receive in relation to the number of tickets given out in their territory.

“The population has to be careful when driving or walking in the streets, respect the rules but also know that the mayor of Montreal is putting pressure on our members to fill quotas,” said Yves Francoeur, president of the brotherhood.

“The best way to not feed into Boni$ Deni$ is to follow the rules.”

The union argued the bonuses are a conflict of interest and violate the managers’ code of ethics.

It is pushing management to abolish the practice.
